The Samsung Canada Solve for Tomorrow Challenge is divided in two phases.
Timing: Monday, March 6, 2017 – Thursday, April 13, 2017
Teachers from across the country enter the contest by completing the Solve for Tomorrow Official Entry Form. All eligible entries are judged based on the criteria outlined in the Official Rules. A minimum of 37 entries from each of the 4 regions (for a total of 150) with the highest scores will be deemed Regional Finalists.
The four (4) regions are as follows:
- Western Canada: British Columbia, Alberta and Yukon
- Central Canada: Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest Territories and Nunavut
- Eastern Canada: Ontario and Quebec
- Atlantic Canada: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador
Regional Finalists will be contacted beginning Tuesday, April 26, 2017.
Timing: Monday, May 8, 2017 - Friday, June 2, 2017
The 150 Regional Finalists and his or her students will produce and submit one video, up to three minutes in length, based on their application, demonstrating how STEM can be applied to help improve their local community.
All eligible entries are judged based on the criteria outlined in the Official Rules. The judges will select 4 Regional Winners to receive $20,000 in Samsung technology for their school.
Regional Winners will be announced Monday, June 19, 2017.
