EVER DREAM OF HAVING MAGIC JOHNSON COACH YOUR CHILD'S SCHOOL TEAM? SAMSUNG’S FOUR SEASONS OF HOPE AND BEST BUY ARE MAKING IT COME TRUE!

National Retail Promotion in February Offers Chance To Win Free Coaching Session and Raises Up To $100,000 For The Magic Johnson Foundation to Help Fight AIDS

Ridgefield Park, NJ - Samsung’s Four Seasons of Hope, a charity benefiting kids and families, Best Buy, one of the country’s leading consumer electronics retailers, and Basketball Legend Magic Johnson, are teaming to "Bring Magic" to one very lucky school and to raise funds to help AIDS prevention and education via a major retail promotion this February. From February 2-22, 2003, anyone who uses their Best Buy credit card is automatically entered to win to have Magic Johnson coach their child’s school team for a day.

The Best Buy effort is one leg of Samsung’s Four Seasons of Hope, a year-round national goodwill program that brings together four of the world’s greatest sports legends -- golf’s Arnold Palmer, football’s Boomer Esiason, baseball’s Joe Torre and basketball’s Magic Johnson -- for a unique, retail program that aims to improve the quality of life for children and their families who face major challenges.

The Magic Johnson Foundation was established in 1991 as a single-disease organization that worked to raise funds for community-based organizations dealing with HIV/AIDS education and prevention programs. The Foundation has since responded to the growing need to address all aspects of our youth’s lives by expanding its mission. The expanded mission emphasizes the Foundation’s focus on supporting community-based organizations that serve the health, educational and social needs of children residing in inner-city communities. In addition, the Foundation has made a strong commitment to raise awareness about several health and social concerns that threaten all underserved communities.

During the three week promotion, donations will be made on the purchase of select Samsung products such as the a500 Wireless Phone, TXM-3096WH 30" HD TV Monitor, and the RS2555SL Side-By-Side Refrigerator. A sweepstakes will also be held, with prizes including five 32" Samsung HDTV Monitors and 50 Magic Johnson autographed basketballs. "This is a true partnership at the highest level with companies working together to help their communities and a good cause."
