SAMSUNG’S FOUR SEASONS OF HOPE AND JOE TORRE HIT ONE OUT OF THE PARK IN THE FIGHT TO
END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Samsung Electronics to Donate $1,000 to the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation for Every Yankee Home Run Hit in Yankee Stadium this Year

Ridgefield Park, NJ – Samsung Electronics America Inc. will team with baseball great Joe Torre in the fight against domestic violence through Samsung’s Four Seasons of Hope “Home Run for Kids” program. For every home run hit by a New York Yankee at Yankee Stadium during the 2006 regular season, Samsung will donate $1,000 to the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation.

“Samsung’s Four Seasons of Hope Home Run for Kids program offers an exciting way for all Yankee fans to ‘go to bat’ and root for the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation and the great work it is doing to raise awareness about domestic violence,” said Peter Weedfald, senior vice president, Samsung Electronics America, Inc.

Fans will be able to follow Home Run for Kids success on the YES Network, the New York region’s premier sports and entertainment television network, which will make on-air announcements after each home run and will track monies donated. Last year, Samsung’s Four Seasons of Hope Home Run for Kids program raised $100,000 for the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation.

Established by Yankee manager Joe Torre in 2002, the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation is dedicated to developing educational programs to help end the cycle of domestic violence and save lives. Torre, a survivor of childhood domestic violence, knows the challenges individuals face as a result of being exposed to such abuse. It was a result of his personal experience and his commitment to helping others that propelled him to establish the foundation four years ago.

The Home Run for Kids program is one part of Samsung’s Four Seasons of Hope, a cause marketing and good will program. Now in its fifth year, the program combines the forces of major national retailers - Best Buy, Sears, Circuit City and CompUSA with sports, music and civic personalities, to execute unique retail programs that raise money and awareness to improve the quality of life for children and their families.
