RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J., Oct.16, 2008 – Samsung’s Four Seasons of Hope program, an innovative philanthropic initiative that combines the forces of major national retailers with sports, music, and civic personalities, joined with Best Buy to present a donation of $100,000 to Carlos Santana's Milagro Foundation today during an assembly at the Davidson Middle School in San Rafael, California. The assembly featured a performance by the Performing Stars of Marin and special appearances by Carlos Santana and Mayor Alberto J. Boro of San Rafael.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Samsung and Best Buy have created a special retail promotion with Carlos and Deborah Santana’s Milagro Foundation, to help support under-represented and underprivileged children and youth in the areas of the arts, education, and health. For every Samsung product sold at Best Buy stores nationwide and online during October, a minimum donation of $100,000 reflecting a portion of the sales will be donated to The Milagro Foundation.

“Samsung is thrilled to have continued our partnership with Carlos Santana and The Milagro Foundation through a promotion with Best Buy,” said D.J. Oh, president and CEO, Samsung Electronics America, Inc. “After his outstanding performance at our 7th Annual Samsung’s Four Seasons of Hope Gala this summer, we were open to confirming additional opportunities to work with Carlos and support the great work that The Milagro Foundation does for children and the arts. Today’s assembly is just one example of how we plan to work with Carlos in the future and support this important cause.”

“It was an honor being here and accepting this donation for The Milagro Foundation,” said Carlos Santana. “Watching the children perform today means that the money raised by partners such as Samsung and Best Buy are going to our future and letting them enjoy their passion for the arts. I look forward to continuing our relationship with Samsung and Best Buy and thank them for their support.”

Samsung’s Four Seasons of Hope began in 2002. Since its inception, the program has raised more than $12 million to benefit children, families and communities in need.
